Seirei Densetsu Lickle is one of those weird, charming NES gems that never made it to the West—unless you count its rebranded version, Little Samson. You play as this tiny blue-haired kid who teams up with a dragon, a golem, and a mouse (yeah, really) to take down an evil sorcerer.

What makes it stand out is how each character controls completely differently—the dragon flies and breathes fire, the golem smashes through walls, and the mouse can crawl into tiny spaces. Swapping between them on the fly keeps the platforming fresh, and some sections actually force you to think about who to use. The sprite work’s surprisingly detailed for an NES game, too, especially the bosses.

It’s tough but fair, and way more polished than most late-era NES releases. If you’re into retro action-platformers, this one’s a hidden classic.
