Oh man, Sangokushi on NES—this one takes me back. It's one of those deep strategy games where you're basically trying to outthink the computer (or your friends) in ancient China's Three Kingdoms era. You pick a warlord, manage cities, recruit generals, and try not to get wiped off the map by Cao Cao's endless armies.
The first time I played, I went straight for Liu Bei because, you know, hero vibes—but turns out his starting position is rough. The game doesn't hold your hand, so you'll spend a lot of time staring at menus, moving tiny sprites around, and hoping your supplies last through winter. Battles are simple but tense—just numbers clashing, but somehow it feels epic when your 3000 troops barely hold against 5000.
It's definitely old-school—no flashy animations, just pure strategy. If you like thinking three steps ahead, this one's a hidden gem. Just don't expect it to go easy on you.
