San Francisco Rush 2049 is that wild, over-the-top N64 racer where you’re basically driving a rocket with wheels through a neon-soaked future San Francisco. The tracks are ridiculous—massive loops, insane jumps, and hidden shortcuts that’ll have you flying off ramps like a stunt driver gone rogue. At first, the handling feels a little floaty, but once you get used to it, pulling off mid-air flips and barely scraping past traffic becomes weirdly satisfying.
There’s a decent selection of cars to tweak, though I always ended up favoring the lighter ones for those tight corner cuts. And the stunt mode? Pure chaos. You’ll spend way too much time trying to rack up the most absurd combos instead of actually racing. It’s not the most polished racer on the N64, but the sheer energy of it makes up for the jank. If you ever wanted a racing game that feels like it’s constantly yelling “EXTREME!” at you, this is the one.
