San Francisco Rush on N64 is one of those arcade racers that just feels fast—like, "grip-the-controller-too-tight-and-miss-the-turn" fast. You're weaving through the steep hills of San Francisco, barely keeping your car from flipping after a ridiculous jump, and then suddenly you spot a hidden alleyway shortcut that cuts half the lap time. The tracks are full of those little secrets.
What I love is how weighty the cars feel—they bounce off guardrails, skid realistically, and sometimes just straight-up tumble down a hill if you botch a landing. It’s not a sim, but it’s not mindless either. And yeah, the graphics were impressive for the N64, especially the city skyline in the distance. Just don’t expect to win your first race without eating a few lampposts first.
Still holds up if you’re into chaotic, stunt-heavy racing with that late ‘90s arcade vibe.
