Saint Seiya - Ougon Densetsu Kanketsu Hen (japan) Game
📅 1988 ✍️ Bandai

So this is the Japan-only sequel to Saint Seiya: Ougon Densetsu on the Famicom—basically the NES for those who don’t know. If you’ve played the first one, it’s more of that same side-scrolling brawler action with your favorite Bronze Saints, but with some tweaks.
You pick your character—Seiya, Shiryu, Hyoga, or Shun—and punch your way through waves of Specters while building up your Cosmo meter for special attacks. The sprites are a little cleaner than the first game, and the controls feel tighter, though some of the enemy patterns can still feel cheap if you’re not careful. Oh, and the soundtrack? Absolute bangers, just like you’d expect from a Saint Seiya game.
It’s a shame this never made it outside Japan, but if you’re into retro anime beat ‘em ups, it’s a solid hidden gem. Just be ready for that classic NES difficulty.
