SD Sengokuden 3 is one of those Game Boy gems that somehow makes feudal Japan warfare weirdly cute. You’ve got these tiny, chibi-style samurai duking it out on a grid, and at first glance, it almost looks too simple—until you realize how much strategy goes into positioning your units just right. Mess up, and suddenly your archers are getting steamrolled by cavalry.
The pixel art has this nostalgic charm, and the battles move fast enough that you don’t get bogged down. I remember thinking the diplomacy stuff was just filler at first, but nope—allying with the right clan can totally save your skin later. It’s got that classic "one more turn" pull, especially when you’re trying to outmaneuver an enemy general who just won’t quit.
If you’re into retro strategy games, this one’s a solid pick—just don’t underestimate those little warriors.
