SD Sengokuden 2 is one of those weird little Game Boy gems where feudal Japan gets the super-deformed (SD) chibi treatment. You’ve got warlords like Nobunaga and Ieyasu, but they’re all tiny and cartoonish, duking it out in turn-based battles. The strategy’s simple at first—move units, attack, repeat—but terrain and unit types actually matter more than you’d think. I remember getting wrecked early on because I just charged samurai into spearmen like an idiot.

The sprites are charmingly goofy, and there’s something satisfying about watching these little guys clash on the overworld map. It’s not super deep, but it’s got that "one more turn" pull if you’re into quick tactical fights. The Japan-only release means menus are in Japanese, though—fair warning if you’re not up for some trial-and-error button mashing.

Definitely a niche pick, but fun if you dig retro strategy with personality.
