About Rush'n Attack
Rush'n Attack came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985, published by Konami. It was part of that wave of early NES games where the action was straightforward and the challenge was immediate. You did not get a long story or complex setup; the game just put you right into the mission.
You control a lone soldier armed primarily with a combat knife. Your goal is to move from left to right, rescuing prisoners of war while fighting enemy soldiers. The game progresses screen by screen, and you rely on close-range stabbing attacks, though you can occasionally pick up temporary weapons like a flamethrower or a rocket launcher from downed foes. The pacing is relentless, with enemies swarming from both sides and often dropping from above, making it a difficult game to master. Playing it feels like a constant, tense scramble for survival.
