Royal Blood (japan) Game

Oh, Royal Blood—that’s just the Japanese name for Gemfire on the NES. Same game, different box art. If you’ve played Gemfire, you already know the deal: it’s a strategy RPG where you pick a kingdom, recruit warlords, and try to conquer the map. The Japanese version doesn’t change much, but the title screen and some text are obviously in Japanese. Still fun if you’re into old-school conquest games with a fantasy twist.
First time I played, I went straight for the samurai faction—figured they’d be overpowered, but turns out balancing troops and magic is the real challenge. The pixel art’s simple but charming, and the music’s got that classic NES vibe. If you dig retro strategy, it’s a solid hidden gem (no pun intended).
