Rokudenashi Blues is one of those classic NES brawlers that flew under the radar outside Japan—probably because it never got an official English release. You play as a delinquent high schooler throwing punches in side-scrolling street fights, and yeah, it’s exactly as chaotic as it sounds. The sprites are chunky in that nostalgic early-90s way, and the controls are simple but satisfying once you get the timing down for combos.
What’s cool is how it captures that rough-and-tumble manga vibe—you’re basically living out a delinquent anime episode with random thugs jumping you in back alleys. The Super Famicom version polished things up a bit, but the original NES one has that raw charm. Just don’t expect deep mechanics; this is pure button-mashing fun with a side of nostalgia.
