About Rokudenashi Blues (japan)
Rokudenashi Blues came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1993, developed by TOSE and published by Bandai. It was a time when licensed manga games were common on the system, and this one adapted its source material into a side scrolling format.
You control Taison Maeda, a high school delinquent, as you walk through neighborhoods and schoolyards. Your main goal is to fight rival students and rise to the top of the school hierarchy. The game uses a life bar system for brawls, and you can pick up items like bats to swing at opponents. Navigating the city happens screen by screen, with random encounters triggering fights that test your timing and button mashing. The pacing is deliberate, and the difficulty can be unforgiving if you rush into large groups. Playing it feels like a straightforward, sometimes clumsy, brawler from that era.
