Rockman World 4 (or Mega Man IV if you're outside Japan) is one of those sneaky Game Boy exclusives that feels like its own thing—not just a scaled-down version of the NES games. You still get the classic run-and-gun action, but the level designs throw some curveballs, like these weird gravity-flipping sections that mess with your head at first. Boss weapons feel a little more experimental here too—some are borderline useless, but others? Absolute game-changers if you figure out the right stages to use them.

It’s got that classic Mega Man jank where you’ll swear some jumps are impossible until you nail the pixel-perfect timing. The music’s surprisingly solid for a Game Boy title, though—that Pharaoh Man remix still gets stuck in my head.
