

Rockman 6 (or Mega Man 6 if you grew up with the US version) is one of those late-era NES games that really pushed the hardware. The robot masters this time are themed around different countries—Wind Man’s got this tornado gimmick, Knight Man swings a giant flail—and the level designs actually feel a bit more creative than some of the earlier entries. The music’s still killer, too.
Oh, and this is the one where they finally gave Mega Man that goofy jetpack adapter. It’s not as broken as you’d think, but it does make some of the platforming way less frustrating. The Japanese version’s mostly the same, just with that classic Engrish title screen.
If you’re emulating it, try playing with a proper controller—the charge shot timing feels weird on touchscreen buttons.
