About Robocop 2 (japan)
RoboCop 2 for the Game Boy came out in 1991, published by Ocean Software. It was one of many licensed games from that period, a side-scrolling action title based on the movie sequel. On the small screen, it fit right in with other portable games of the early 90s, offering a straightforward adaptation of its source material without much fanfare.
You control RoboCop, moving from left to right through urban and industrial stages. Your main goal is to shoot your way through waves of criminals and eventually confront the new RoboCop 2. The game uses a screen by screen progression; you clear all enemies on one screen to advance to the next. You primarily use your standard pistol, and you can occasionally pick up a heavier weapon for more firepower. The pacing is methodical, and the difficulty is quite unforgiving, with limited continues and enemies that attack from all directions. Playing it feels like a slow, deliberate march through a hostile city where every corner demands your full attention.
