RoboCop 2 on NES is exactly what you'd expect—a clunky but weirdly charming side-scroller where you stomp through Detroit blasting criminals as the iconic cyborg cop. The controls feel stiff (because of course they do), but there's something satisfying about plowing through waves of thugs with that chunky pixel-art shotgun. The Japan version tweaks a few things, like slightly faster movement, but it's still very much an NES-era licensed game—rough around the edges, but with enough nostalgia to keep you going.
You’ll start off in a grimy cityscape, taking down goons who barely react to being shot, and yeah, the hit detection is… questionable. But the music’s got that classic 8-bit grit, and if you grew up with this era, you’ll probably grin at how faithfully it captures the movie’s vibe, right down to RoboCop’s awkwardly slow walk. Just don’t expect a hidden gem—it’s more of a "turn your brain off and enjoy the jank" kind of experience.
