About Robocop 2 (japan)
RoboCop 2 for the NES came out in 1991 from Data East. It was one of many movie tie-ins on the system, a time when developers often tried to capture the feel of a film with limited hardware. You step into the metal boots of RoboCop, navigating a side scrolling world to clean up the crime in Old Detroit.
You control RoboCop through several city stages, moving screen by screen and shooting down a stream of thugs and cyborgs. Your main goal is to stop the Nuke drug cartel and confront the monstrous RoboCop 2. You can pick up different weapons, like a heavy machine gun, to replace your standard pistol. Some sections switch to a first person view for targeting specific enemies or disarming bombs. The game moves at a deliberate pace, and the difficulty is punishing; enemies respawn quickly and drain your health. Playing it feels like a constant, grueling battle against overwhelming odds.
