Road Rash for the Game Boy came out in 1996, published by THQ. It was part of that wave of games trying to bring the feel of bigger console titles onto the handheld. You got a racing game that was a little rough around the edges, but it had its own charm on the small screen.

You control a motorcycle racer, and the goal is simple: finish in the top three to advance to the next, faster race. The main things you do are racing and fighting. You can punch or kick the other riders to knock them off their bikes, and you can sometimes pick up a weapon like a club to swing at them. The races are split into sections, and you have to watch your bike's damage meter; crash too much and you're out. It's a frantic game where you're constantly balancing speed with aggression, and it feels chaotic and satisfying when you shove a rival into oncoming traffic.
