About Road Blasters
Road Blasters came out on the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1987, a port of the Atari Games arcade racer. It was a time when developers were trying to squeeze big arcade experiences onto the home console, and this one landed with its core idea intact.
You control a futuristic car, driving from a behind the vehicle perspective. Your main goal is to finish 50 rallies without running out of fuel. You shoot enemy cars on the road to clear your path, and collecting green globes refills your main gas tank. A key mechanic is the fuel multiplier; destroying enemies in a row increases a bonus multiplier, and the total you have at the end of a stage converts into extra reserve fuel. The action is fast and the fuel management adds a constant pressure. It feels like a race against your own gas gauge as much as against the other cars.
