Rescue: The Embassy Mission came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1990, developed and published by Kemco. You control a six-member anti-terrorist squad tasked with rescuing hostages from an embassy seized by terrorists. The game is split into distinct phases. First, you position your snipers across the street, using a telescopic sight to patiently wait for the right moment to take out guards in the windows. If you miss the timing, the alarm sounds and the mission gets much harder. Once the snipers have done their job, you switch to the assault team, who must scale the embassy walls, floor by floor, in a side-view perspective. You move screen by screen, clearing rooms with careful door breaches and quick shots. The pacing is deliberate, almost tense, because a single mistake can get your team members killed and force a restart. Finishing a mission feels like a genuine relief, a quiet success earned through patience and precision.
