Rescue: The Embassy Mission is one of those weird, tense NES games that doesn’t play like anything else. You’re leading a SWAT team to storm an embassy taken by terrorists—but first, you’ve got to sneak snipers into position under cover of darkness. Mess up the timing, and guards spot you. Get too close, and they open fire. The tension’s brutal.
Once your snipers are set, you switch to the assault team breaching doors in real-time. It’s clunky by today’s standards, but back then, the mix of stealth and action felt fresh. The PC original (Hostages) was even harder, but this NES port keeps the stress levels high. Just don’t expect a run-and-gun shooter—patience is key here.
