Renju Club Game

Renju Club on Game Boy is basically like a stripped-down, portable version of Go—but faster and way more bite-sized. You drop black or white stones on a grid, trying to line up five in a row while blocking the AI (or a friend, if you’ve got a link cable). The AI’s decent—not brutal, but it’ll punish lazy moves. First time I played, I got wrecked thinking it was just tic-tac-toe.
The controls are simple: d-pad to move, A to place. No frills, no tutorials—just straight into it. The music’s this weirdly calming synth loop that somehow makes losing five games in a row less painful. If you’ve got a thing for abstract strategy but don’t want to spend an hour on a single match, this one’s a solid pick.
