I remember picking up The Ren & Stimpy Show for Game Boy back in 1993. It was published by THQ, a company that put out a lot of licensed games for the handheld. At the time, a lot of Game Boy titles were simple side scrollers, and this one fit right into that familiar category. It was just another cartoon game you'd get because you liked the show.

You control both Ren and Stimpy, switching between them to get through levels. The main goal is to rescue the mythical Powdered Toast Man by finishing a series of side scrolling stages. You punch and kick enemies, and each character has a special move; Ren uses a slingshot, while Stimpy can perform a powerful belly flop. The game is broken into distinct areas you move through screen by screen, and you collect items like dog bones and rubber nipples to earn extra lives. The pacing is slow, and the controls feel stiff, which makes some of the platforming frustrating. It feels like a clumsy attempt to capture the show's chaotic energy.
