Rat Attack came out for the Nintendo 64 in 1999, published by Interplay Entertainment. It was part of that wave of puzzle games on the console, a different kind of challenge compared to the platformers and racers that were more common. You control a little exterminator character, and your job is to clear out waves of rats that pour onto single-screen levels. The main objective is to trap all the rats before they overrun the place. Your primary tool is a spray that makes the rats turn around and run in the opposite direction; you use this to herd them into traps you place on the floor. The game is about managing the rat horde's movement, predicting their paths, and sealing off exits. It starts simple but gets frantic quickly as more rats appear and the layouts become more complex. Playing it feels like a tense, strategic scramble to stay in control.
