Ranma 1-2 - Netsuretsu Kakutou Hen is one of those weird, charming Game Boy fighters based on the Ranma ½ anime. You pick from Ranma (guy or girl form, obviously), Akane, or a handful of other characters and brawl in tiny pixelated arenas. The moves are simple—a few punches, kicks, and specials—but it’s got that old-school jank where some attacks feel way stronger than others.
What’s funny is how the sprites actually capture the anime’s expressions, even on the Game Boy’s blurry screen. Ranma’s annoyed face after losing a round? Perfect. It’s not deep, but if you’re into the series or just like quirky retro fighters, it’s a neat little time capsule. Just don’t expect Street Fighter levels of polish.
