About Rampage - World Tour (e)
Rampage: World Tour came out for the Nintendo 64 in 1997, developed and published by Midway Games. It was a time when the N64 was full of ambitious 3D adventures, but this game offered a simpler, more chaotic kind of fun. It felt like a direct port of the arcade experience, built for quick sessions and shared laughter rather than deep storytelling.
You control one of three giant monsters: a gorilla, a lizard, or a wolf. Your goal is to smash every building in a city, one after another, while eating people and fending off the military. The game progresses screen by screen, with you climbing skyscrapers and punching them until they crumble into dust. You can grab helicopters and tanks to use as weapons or snacks, and the screen constantly scrolls, forcing you to keep moving. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty comes from the sheer volume of forces sent to stop you. It feels like a gleeful, mindless demolition spree from start to finish.
