Rally Challenge 2000 on N64 is one of those racers that starts simple—pick a car, pick a track, and go—but then the rain hits. Suddenly, that tight corner you breezed through in dry conditions becomes a slippery nightmare. The physics aren’t ultra-realistic, but they’re just weighty enough to make you feel the difference between gravel, mud, and pavement.
There’s a decent mix of arcade-style speed and sim-like handling, so whether you’re slamming into shortcuts or carefully feathering the throttle, it doesn’t punish you too hard. The tracks get seriously twisty later on, and the weather changes mid-race, which keeps things unpredictable. Not the deepest racer on the N64, but it’s got enough bite to keep you coming back for cleaner laps.
