Rainbow Islands - The Story Of Bubble Bobble 2 (japan) Game
📅 1988 ✍️ Taito Corporation

Rainbow Islands is that weird, colorful follow-up to Bubble Bobble where you're still a tiny dragon, but now you're shooting rainbows instead of bubbles. At first it feels a little off—like, why rainbows?—but then you realize you can use them as both weapons and platforms, which is way more fun than it sounds. The levels stack upward, so you're constantly climbing your own rainbows while dodging enemies, and some of the later stages get surprisingly tricky.
It's got that same cute-but-deadly vibe as the first game, just with more pastel colors and way more ways to accidentally trap yourself. If you liked Bubble Bobble, this one's worth a shot, even if it doesn't quite hit the same magic.
