Raid on Bungeling Bay is one of those NES games that feels simple at first—just you, a helicopter, and a bunch of enemy factories to blow up. But then you realize the Bungeling Empire doesn’t just sit there; they rebuild stuff, send out patrol boats, and even launch jets after you if you take too long. The controls are a little floaty, but once you get used to banking turns and timing your bombs, it’s weirdly satisfying to watch their production grind to a halt.
What I love is how the map slowly fills in as you explore—you start with just a tiny island on your radar, but there’s way more out there. And yeah, you can technically win by bombing everything, but good luck dodging their defenses when they’re fully alerted. It’s a sneaky little strategy game disguised as an arcade shooter.
