About Racket Attack
Racket Attack came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1988, published by Jaleco. It was one of many sports titles on the platform, a straightforward tennis game from that era when developers were still figuring out how to translate the sport into a fun, pixelated experience.
You control a tennis player from a side view, moving back and forth along the baseline to hit the ball. The main goal is to win matches by outscoring a series of computer opponents. Your main tools are a standard shot, a lob to send the ball high over the net, and a faster, more powerful slam. The game moves at a quick pace, and the computer players can be surprisingly difficult, returning shots with precision. It feels like a test of your timing and positioning more than anything else.
