Race Drivin' on Game Boy is one of those early 3D racers that feels janky now but was kinda mind-blowing at the time. You’ve got this weird, polygonal car that handles like a shopping cart on ice, and the tracks twist in ways that make your eyes cross. The first time I played, I slammed into every wall for a solid five minutes before getting the hang of it.
It’s got a weird charm, though—the physics are ridiculous, and the draw distance makes corners appear out of nowhere. You’ll either love how retro it feels or bail after one race. I stuck with it just to see if I could beat my own terrible lap times. The fact that it even exists on Game Boy is kind of impressive.
