About Quattro Arcade (unl)
Quattro Arcade is a 1992 Nintendo Entertainment System release from Camerica, a budget publisher known for unlicensed cartridges. It arrived late in the NES lifecycle, offering a compilation of four distinct games on a single cartridge: F-16 Renegade, C.J.'s Elephant Antics, Go! Dizzy Go!, and Stunt Buggies. This collection represents a specific type of value proposition from that era, bundling several shorter experiences into one package.
You control different characters depending on the game, from a pilot in a jet fighter to the egg-shaped Dizzy. The main objective is simply to progress and achieve a high score in each separate title. Signature mechanics vary wildly; F-16 Renegade involves horizontal shooting against enemy aircraft, while Go! Dizzy Go! is an isometric puzzle platformer where you push blocks and avoid enemies. C.J.'s Elephant Antics is a side-scrolling platformer with animal buddies, and Stunt Buggies is a straightforward racing game. The pacing and difficulty shift with each game, providing a jarring but varied session. Playing it feels like flipping through a sampler of late-era NES ideas, some more polished than others.
