Quarth is one of those weird little NES gems that doesn’t get talked about enough. It’s a puzzle game, but not like Tetris—more like if someone mixed block-fitting with a shoot ‘em up. You control this tiny ship at the bottom of the screen, blasting shapes that fall from above. The trick? You’ve gotta complete perfect rectangles by filling in the gaps between the blocks. Sounds simple, but when things speed up, it gets frantic fast.
At first, I thought it was just a quirky time-waster, but the deeper you get, the more satisfying it becomes when you nail a tricky combo. The music’s got that classic NES synth vibe, too—kinda hypnotic after a while. If you dig old-school puzzle games with a twist, this one’s surprisingly addictive.
