About Q Billion (japan)
Q Billion came out for the Game Boy in 1989, published by Jaleco. It was part of that early wave of portable games where developers were figuring out what worked on the small screen, often focusing on simple, repeatable concepts. This one fit right in with its straightforward puzzle premise.
You control a small mouse navigating single-screen rooms filled with numbered blocks. Your goal is to push every block until its number is reduced to one. Each push decreases a block's number, and you have to plan your route carefully because you can only push blocks, not pull them. If you box yourself in or leave a block on a high number with no way to reach it, you have to restart the stage. The game starts gently but the stages get tight and demanding, forcing you to think several moves ahead. It feels like a quiet, methodical test of your spatial reasoning.
