About Purikura Pocket
Purikura Pocket came out for the Game Boy in 2000, published by Atlus. It was part of that wave of late-era Game Boy titles that tried to bring more complex, niche Japanese experiences to the handheld. This one was their take on the purikura photo booth craze, translating the social fun of making sticker sheets into a single-player adventure.
You control a young girl exploring a multi-story photo studio, room by room. Your main goal is to collect a full set of themed sticker photos by solving puzzles and talking to the quirky characters who run the place. Signature mechanics include navigating the studio's interconnected rooms to find specific photo booths and then playing simple mini-games to pose your character and decorate the final sticker sheet with stamps and handwritten messages. The pacing is relaxed, more about exploration and light interaction than any real challenge. It feels like quietly organizing a small, personal collection of memories.
