Purikura Pocket 3 is one of those weirdly charming Game Boy games that feels like it shouldn’t work but somehow does. You’re basically managing a pop idol group—picking outfits, scheduling rehearsals, and trying not to let their stress levels spiral before a big performance. The pixel art is surprisingly expressive, especially when your idols start panicking because you overworked them.

At first, I had no idea what I was doing—accidentally booked back-to-back dance practices and ended up with a group of exhausted, miserable performers. But once you get the hang of balancing training and rest, it’s weirdly satisfying to see your idols improve. The game’s entirely in Japanese, but the menus are simple enough to figure out with some trial and error (or a quick translation guide).

If you’ve ever wanted to run a chaotic, low-budget idol agency from the palm of your hand, this is your chance.
