So here's the deal with Punch-Out!! on NES—it's the exact same game as Mike Tyson's Punch-Out!!, just without Mike. Nintendo lost the rights to his name, so they swapped him out for a generic final boss (Mr. Dream, who honestly just feels like Tyson with a different face).
You still get all those ridiculous, over-the-top boxers like Glass Joe and King Hippo, the same satisfying punch combos, and that classic "dodge-and-counter" rhythm that makes you feel like a genius when you finally figure out a fighter's tells. The first time you see Bald Bull charging at you, you'll panic—but after a few tries, you'll be knocking him out mid-rush like it's nothing.
It's weird how well this holds up—the animations are so expressive, and the difficulty curve is brutal but fair (until you hit Tyson... er, Mr. Dream).
