About Probotector (europe)
Probotector came out in 1990 for the Nintendo Entertainment System, published by Konami. It was the European version of Contra, a game that fit right in with the action heavy library of the NES during that period.
You control a lone soldier, or two players can team up, running and gunning through side scrolling and pseudo 3D stages. The main goal is to fight through waves of robotic enemies and alien creatures to destroy their base. Key mechanics include picking up different weapon power ups, like the spread gun or laser, and the ability to duck and jump to avoid enemy fire. The game is notoriously difficult, demanding quick reflexes and memorization of enemy patterns. It feels tense and frantic, a constant test of your ability to survive against overwhelming odds.
