Pro Soccer on Game Boy is one of those old-school sports games that somehow nails the feel of the real thing despite the tiny screen. You pick your team—good luck telling them apart at first—and jump straight into these fast, chaotic matches where every pass feels risky and every shot could either be a total whiff or an absolute banger.

The controls are simple (d-pad and two buttons, come on), but there’s a weird depth to it. Slide tackles are borderline OP, and if you figure out the timing for long shots, you’ll be spamming them every match. CPU opponents get brutal on higher difficulties, too—expect some last-minute goals that’ll make you groan.

It’s not fancy, but there’s something satisfying about how raw it is. You’ll either love the jank or hate it, no in-between. Still holds up if you’re into retro sports games.
