Prince of Persia on Game Boy is one of those old-school gems that still holds up—if you can handle the jank. You start off in this gloomy dungeon, and right away, the controls feel stiff in that classic early-90s way. But once you get used to the timing (jumping is half muscle memory, half prayer), it’s weirdly satisfying.
Most of the game is about dodging traps, figuring out which levers open which gates, and sword-fighting guards who move like they’re stuck in molasses. The animation’s surprisingly smooth for a Game Boy title, though—watching the prince flip over spikes never gets old. And yeah, the time limit adds stress, but in a good way.
It’s not perfect—some jumps feel unfairly precise, and the swordplay’s basically just mashing buttons—but there’s charm in its clunkiness. If you’ve got nostalgia for this era, it’s a solid way to kill an afternoon.
