Primal Rage on Game Boy is basically what happens if you take Street Fighter, replace all the fighters with giant prehistoric monsters, and crank the chaos up to 11. You pick between these hulking beasts—some look like T-Rexes with anger issues, others are gorillas that breathe fire—and just wreck each other in ruined cities.
The controls feel a little stiff compared to arcade fighters, but once you get used to it, pulling off moves like summoning meteors or vomiting lava is stupidly satisfying. The pixel art somehow makes these creatures look even meaner, especially when they finish each other off with brutal fatalities. It’s janky in that classic Game Boy way, but if you ever wanted to see a velociraptor uppercut a yeti into oblivion, this is your game.
