Power Soccer (japan) Game

Power Soccer is one of those weird little NES sports games that never made it out of Japan—which is a shame, because it’s actually kind of a blast. You’ve got your standard 8-bit soccer action, but with this weird, almost arcadey feel to it. The players move faster than you’d expect, and the ball physics are just chaotic enough to keep things unpredictable.
First thing you’ll notice? The chunky sprites and that classic NES color palette—lots of bright blues and reds. The controls are simple (pass, shoot, tackle), but matches get surprisingly intense. I kept getting caught off guard by how aggressive the AI is—they’ll straight-up steal the ball if you hesitate for half a second.
No fancy leagues or career modes here, just straight-up matches. But there’s something weirdly addictive about it, especially with two players. Definitely a hidden gem if you’re into retro sports games.
