Power Quest on the Game Boy is one of those games that just feels right in your hands—like the cartridge was made to be there. You start off with this little pixel warrior, and within minutes, you're zapping enemies with lightning attacks and trying not to get lost in these maze-like dungeons. The sprites are chunky and full of personality, and the combat’s got this weirdly satisfying rhythm to it—tap, dodge, charge, repeat.
It’s not just mindless button-mashing, though. Some enemies take a few tries to figure out, and the upgrades you pick up along the way actually change how you play. I remember getting stuck on this one boss for ages until I realized I could bounce my shots off the walls. Classic Game Boy charm with just enough challenge to keep you from putting it down. If you’ve got a soft spot for retro action games, this one’s a no-brainer.
