About Power Punch 2
Power Punch 2 came out for the NES in 1992 from Natsume. It was a late release for the system, a time when many developers were already moving on to newer consoles. The game tried to bring a science fiction twist to the boxing genre, which was not very common back then.
You control a boxer named Mark Tyler, fighting through a tournament against twelve alien opponents. Your main goal is to win each match to become the galactic champion. The gameplay involves standard boxing mechanics; you throw jabs and hooks, block incoming punches, and try to knock out your opponent before your own health depletes. The opponents include cyborgs and mutants, each with unique attack patterns you must learn. The pacing is methodical, and the difficulty can be unforgiving, demanding precise timing to avoid powerful special moves. It feels like a straightforward but challenging test of your reflexes and patience in the ring.
