About Pooyan (japan)
Pooyan came out for the Nintendo Entertainment System in 1985, developed and published by Konami. It was part of that early wave of NES games where the concepts were often simple and direct, ported from the arcade with a focus on quick, repeatable action.
You control a mother pig named Pooyan, who must protect her piglets from wolves descending on balloons. Your main objective is to pop the wolves' balloons with your bow and arrow, sending them falling, while also deflecting the rocks they drop with your shots. The screen scrolls vertically, and you alternate between shooting upward from the bottom and downward from the top as the wolves change their approach. The pacing is relentless, and the difficulty escalates quickly as more wolves appear and their movements become less predictable. It feels like a frantic, non stop test of your aim and timing.
