About Pokemon Stadium 2 (spain)
Pokemon Stadium 2 came out for the Nintendo 64 in 2000, developed and published by Nintendo. It was a follow up to the original Stadium, arriving when the N64 was the main console and the Pokemon craze was still huge. This version expanded on the first game by including all the new Pokemon from Gold and Silver, making it a much bigger package for anyone who had been playing on their Game Boy.
You don't control a single character walking around a world. Instead, you manage your team of Pokemon, which you can transfer from your Game Boy cartridges using the Transfer Pak. The main goal is to win battles across different modes, like the Gym Leader Castle and the Stadium Cups. Signature mechanics include the turn based battles rendered in 3D, which was a big step up from the Game Boy's simple sprites, and the extensive minigame section where you play quick, silly games using the controller. The game can be quite difficult, especially in the higher cups where the AI opponents have strong, well balanced teams. Playing it feels like finally seeing your carefully trained Pokemon come to life on the big screen, battling it out with all the energy and spectacle you imagined.
