Pokémon Puzzle League is basically Tetris Attack but with a fresh coat of Pokémon paint—and honestly, that’s not a bad thing. You’re sliding and matching colored blocks in a grid, trying to clear them before the opponent’s stack creeps up on you. The twist? All the trainers and Pokémon from the anime show up, cheering you on or trash-talking depending on how well you’re doing.
At first, it feels simple—just line up three of the same color—but then the speed kicks in, and suddenly you’re frantically flipping rows while Misty smugly watches your screen fill up. The versus mode is where it really shines, especially if you’ve got a friend who thinks they’re good at puzzles (spoiler: they’re probably not).
It’s got that late ‘90s N64 charm, from the blocky models to the weirdly intense announcer yelling "COMBO!" like it’s life or death. If you ever spent hours on Panel de Pon or just want to see Ash’s polygonal face taunt you, this one’s a solid pick.
