Pocket Puyo Puyo 2 Tsuu is that perfect kind of Game Boy game—simple to pick up, brutal to master. You’re dropping these little jellybean-looking blobs (Puyos, obviously) and trying to match four of the same color. Sounds easy until the screen starts filling up and your opponent’s garbage blocks rain down on you.
The real magic is in the chains—setting up combos where one match triggers another, then another, until you’re watching your poor rival’s screen drown in a flood of nuisance blocks. The AI doesn’t mess around either; even the early opponents will punish sloppy play. I lost way too many matches before realizing you can’t just react—you’ve gotta plan two or three moves ahead.
It’s got that classic Puyo charm, too. The characters are ridiculous, the sound effects are goofy, and the colors pop even on the Game Boy’s tiny screen. If you’ve got a soft spot for puzzle games that reward both quick thinking and long-term strategy, this one’s a no-brainer.
