Pocket Monsters Stadium game

Pocket Monsters Stadium was basically the first time we got to see our favorite Pokémon duke it out in full 3D on the N64. The battles look surprisingly good for the time—your team actually animates when they attack instead of just flashing like in the Game Boy games.

At first, I thought it was just a fancy battle simulator, but there’s actually some depth here. You can tweak your team’s movesets, enter tournaments, or just go wild against the AI. The announcer’s voice is hilariously over-the-top, and watching Charizard blast a Pikachu off the screen never gets old.

It’s definitely a nostalgia trip if you grew up with the early Pokémon games. Just don’t expect a full RPG—this one’s all about the battles.
