Okay, so Pinocchio On GB is one of those weirdly charming Game Boy adaptations of classic stories—like someone took a Disney movie and crammed it into a tiny cartridge. You play as Pinocchio, obviously, running through side-scrolling levels that loosely follow the plot: escaping Stromboli’s puppet show, getting swallowed by a whale, all that jazz.

The sprites are actually pretty decent for Game Boy standards—Geppetto’s workshop has this cozy, cluttered look, and the whale level? Surprisingly tense when you’re dodging floating barrels in its belly. The platforming’s a bit stiff (ha, wooden puppet joke), but there’s something oddly satisfying about bouncing on enemies with Pinocchio’s little floppy limbs.
