Picross 2 is that Japan-only Game Boy follow-up to Mario’s Picross—same addictive grid-filling puzzles, but with a little more polish. Mario’s back in his weird archaeologist side gig, chiseling away at blocks to reveal hidden pixel art. The puzzles start simple, but before long, you’re staring at numbers, second-guessing whether that row needs five consecutive blocks or two separate chunks.
It’s got that same satisfying "click" when you figure out a tricky section, and the pixel art reveals are surprisingly charming for how basic they are. Some of the later puzzles? Brutal. But in a good way, if you’re into that slow, methodical "aha" grind. Definitely one for the Picross diehards.
