Phantasm (japan) Game

Phantasm on the Game Boy is this weird little gem where you play as a ghost—specifically, a dead gangster who’s really not over how things ended. You float around haunting places, possessing random objects (lamps, swords, whatever’s lying around) to mess with the living. The controls take a second to click, but once you get the hang of switching between objects mid-haunt, it’s oddly satisfying.
It’s got that classic Game Boy jank—some hitboxes are questionable, and the sprites are tiny blobs—but the whole vibe is so bizarrely charming. One minute you’re a floating lantern scaring guards, the next you’re a possessed suit of armor swinging a sword. No deep lore here, just pure petty ghost revenge.
Definitely one of those "had to be there" games, but if you’re into obscure handheld weirdness, it’s a trip.
