Perman - Enban wo Torikaese!! is one of those weird, charming NES games based on a Japanese superhero manga. You play as Perman, a kid with a mask and superpowers, running around grabbing these flying discs (the "enban") before the bad guys do. It's got that classic 8-bit platformer feel—jumping feels a little stiff at first, but you get used to it.
The levels are short and chaotic, with enemies popping up everywhere, and the music has that unmistakable NES bleep-bloop energy. It’s not the deepest game, but there’s something fun about the sheer speed of it—you’re basically just sprinting and jumping nonstop. If you’re into obscure retro stuff, it’s a neat little time capsule from the era.
Also, good luck figuring out some of the Japanese text if you don’t know the language. Trial and error is part of the charm here.
