Perfect Dark on N64 was way ahead of its time—this wasn’t just another shooter. You play as Joanna Dark, an agent thrown into this wild mix of spy missions and alien conspiracies. The guns felt insane for 2000: laptop guns that turn into turrets, a rifle that shoots through walls, even a damn alien weapon that makes enemies explode from the inside. The AI actually flanks you and reacts to how you play, which was nuts back then.
First mission drops you into a rainy corporate plaza at night, sneaking past guards or going in guns blazing. I remember getting wrecked by the enemy accuracy on higher difficulties—they don’t just stand there like in GoldenEye. Story’s cheesy sci-fi in the best way, with cutscenes that somehow made blocky N64 models feel dramatic. Still holds up if you can handle the janky controls.
